About the club

Jerusalem Jugglers

The Jerusalem Jugglers consists of members who meet weekly in order to engage in juggling related activities:

  • Learning new tricks and various techniques for practicing and executing tricks.

  • Practicing tricks involving two or more people.

  • Playing juggling games with many participants.

  • Teaching new people how to juggle.

  • Getting updated about the world juggling scene.

The general purpose of the club is to create an infrastructure for the existence of juggling in Israel. To this day, juggling is considered to be an esoteric curiosity by the public, and changing this image to the one in Europe and the United States, where juggling is considered to be a physical activity or an art, is one of the aspects of this purpose.

The club has been in existence for four years, and consists of members who come from almost all of the social strata in Israel, including secular, religious and orthodox members, people from all parts of the political spectrum, women, men, children, youth and adults. However, no consideration is given to the differences between people, and everyone strives towards one goal - to have fun together and to learn how to improve in juggling.

The clubs members regularly perform in hospitals for children. In the past, the club has held charity performances on the Ben-Yehuda pedestrian mall, and all the proceeds were donated to the international organization Hineni. In addition, the club has organized two national juggling conventions to which many jugglers (100-150) came from all over the country. The club plans to continue to organize yearly conventions in order to advance juggling in Israel.

Some of the clubs members are also members of the International Juggling Association, which harbors some 3,000 members worldwide. Two of the clubs members even participated in this summers yearly international convention in the United States, and even reached third place in the world in one of the competitions that were held there.

So far, a number of articles concerning the club have appeared in the local media, as well as in the international juggling media.
